Study abroad field trip at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, based on cross-cultural exposure and applied research field experience. Program goals include: (a) considering appropriate roles of the University in society, including the concept of "the engaged university", and some of the challenges and opportunities inherent in achieving success with that model; (b) considering how the model of the "engaged university" applies to the College of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences, BBU-student-led seminar; (c) considering appropriate roles of University faculty and students in society and the importance of cultural factors in carrying out applied work in public administration and public policy; (d) gaining practical experience as a member of an advisory team in a cross-cultural environment.Â
